Fusion Energy is Clean Energy

Energy from fusion produces no greenhouse gases or air pollutants.

Developing fusion energy will provide a clean source of power that can fully break America’s dependence on fossil fuels. It is estimated that fusion power plants will be have capacities in excess of 1 Gigawatt each, capable of about 725,000 homes with clean, always-on power.

Accelerating the development of fusion research and development means that fusion will play a role in completing the global clean-energy transformation. Fusion will work with renewable power sources like wind, solar, and hydro power to ensure a safe, secure, and clean energy system. The scale of fusion power will ensure that countries can “decouple” energy usage from the growth of greenhouse gas emissions.
